To provide Registered Marriage Celebrant services to my clients in accordance with the code of Practice for Marriage Celebrants.
To provide information, guidance and support to potential and contractual clients to envision/curate a ceremony style, schedule and script that is compatible with the couple and their combined personalities, characters and interests.
To provide flexibility with location and time of ceremony-related meetings with potential and contractual clients, and their involved families/friends where appropriate.
To provide and allow alterations of a ceremony style, schedule and script up to and no later than 4 days prior to a given marriage ceremony. Emergency situations surpassing this timeframe are considered as an exception to this policy procedure and can be accommodated where possible, in aim of full achievement by myself, the Celebrant.
To provide my clients with all necessary information and documentation required for my management; above all, legal paperwork to validly solemnise Australian marriages.
To provide full care and management of necessary legal documentation, including submission and application of documentation to necessary government departments and offices for documentation processing and registration.
To provide relationship counselling options to all contractual clients should they wish to seek this division of support leading up to their marriage ceremony.
To attend a marriage ceremony at the time, date and location agreed with contractual clients.
To advise my clients as soon as possible if I, the Celebrant, am unable to conduct the ceremony for any acceptable reason, and to make all reasonable efforts to arrange for the ceremony to be completed by another registered marriage Celebrant. Acceptable reasons are:
· Inability to perform the marriage ceremony due to illness or other unforeseen circumstances
In such circumstances, I, the Celebrant, am to pass the Notice of Intention to Marry to the replacement marriage Celebrant, in a timely and appropriate manner.
In the extreme case of an emergency situation that prevents me, the Celebrant, to perform my duties and fulfil my responsibilities in their entirety for my clients and their marriage ceremony, a 'nominated substitute person' proposed by my own sound judgment, will act on my behalf as my voice and mental state and communicate my inability to physically perform as the Celebrant for the marriage, as per the contract between myself and my client and the Celebrant Code of Practice.
The form and method of communication chosen and provided by the nominated substitute person to deliver the emergency is dependable on the emergency.
Nonetheless, communication in the form of telephone and Short Message Service (SMS) combined are of first preference, and to be directed first-hand to my clients. Should this form and method of notification fail to receive, another form and method of communication would be of substitute and appropriately suffice.
The nominated substitute person cannot relieve themselves from this role until all necessary steps are taken to ensure the emergency has in fact been received and understood by those notified.
